The fall meeting of the Fall Meeting will take place Nov 1-3, 2019 at Stetson University's Institute for Water and Environmental Resilience in Deland, FL. Mark your calendars now and plan to attend. The gathering will feature student presentations on Florida wetlands and water birds as well as field trips to nearby locations (and perhaps a special pre-dawn trip in search of one of our rarest rails). Cash prizes totaling nearly $450 will be awarded to student presenters (both posters and oral). For full details click the Registration Info button below.
The Florida Ornithological Society holds two meetings every year—one in the spring and one in the fall. Meetings are open to all members, their guests, and the general public. The meetings usually are held at various locations in Florida, although the Society has also met in an adjacent state (Georgia or Alabama) or even the Bahamas. In Florida we try to rotate meetings to accommodate members in all parts of the state. The Vice President typically arranges the meetings and serves as liaison between the Society and its local hosts.
